CES 2024:
HoloFan animations

This is a series of four animations made to be displayed on Holofan devices at CES 2024.
References arrived in the form of a deck that described four looks made by image-bashing from various sources.
All of them were rebuilt from from scratch, with the exception of brand lockup vectors, and a product model. the CES arch was initially provided, but the topography ended up being unusable and it was simple enough to recreate with better geometry.
The clouds in Sanofi were the biggest challenge, as clouds almost always are. The constraints of the project called for seamless looping on short intervals, which works against the vaporous nature of a VDB volume.

After a bit of experimentation, I found that the simplest solution was to build a VOP in Houdini that would advect density across the volume with a turbulence node.
The output from that could then be looped using a LABS node and cached for blender.
The animated sun for the Tyson holofan was a satisfying post-effect to build. Drag and drop solutions didn't work, especially for a seamless loop. So I created an effect stack in After Effects that stretched looping noise into rotating flares, which could then be layered with glows and alpha channel shaping.
